Simply put, Rooster Walk cannot be successful without support from friends and businesses in the community.

Rooster Walk is a charitable organization. None of the festival’s organizers or staffers are paid for their services – all money raised goes toward budget requirements such as band fees, event permits, insurance policies, sound and lighting technicians, etc. Donations made to the Penn-Shank Memorial LLC. are used to cover expenses and operating costs inherent in putting on an event of this nature.

After covering expenses, proceeds will be donated to the memorial scholarship fund named in honor of Walker Shank and Edwin Penn, while also enabling Rooster Walk to occur in 2013 and beyond.

Thanks to the incredible support we received surrounding last year's festival, Penn-Shank Memorial has donated $10,000 to the Penn-Shank Memorial Scholarship Fund at Martinsville High School. Of that sum, $1,000 will be awarded to a deserving MHS senior each year.

With your help, this festival will continue to be a huge success, and the scholarship fund will only get bigger.
